Grand Tour 2024: Switzerland & the Italian Lakes

A Swiss Alps driving tour with Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill, starting in Locarno on Lake Maggiore, crossing iconic Swiss mountain passes and finishing at the Balocco proving ground in Piedmont, with stays in fabulous four- and five-star hotels and the best hospitality in Italy and Switzerland.

The route took guests through the spectacular Swiss Alps and into Italy

In 2024, the Grand Tour combined legendary driving roads with golf, performance driving and exclusive track experiences, before a final journey into the Piedmont countryside.

From Lake Como, the route ran via Lake Lugano and the Gotthard to Andermatt and The Chedi, then over the Furka Pass to Crans-Montana, with optional golf alongside Damon Hill. The finale crossed the Grand St Bernard Pass, the closing scene of The Italian Job, to Alfa Romeo’s Balocco circuit for hot laps with Damon and performance tuition from Josh Hill.

Sixty years of Goldfinger on the Furka Pass

In 1964, the Furka Pass became one of the most famous roads in cinema, as James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 trailed Goldfinger’s Rolls-Royce through its hairpins high above the Rhône Glacier. Sixty years on, Grand Tour guests drove the same stretch of road, making the Furka the centrepiece of a Switzerland road trip that celebrated the golden age of driving on film.
