Austrian resorts are largely at lower altitude but snowmaking is excellent and they still get their fair share of great natural snowfalls.

Choose your resort carefully

The mostly friendly, wooded slopes in much of the Austrian Alps lend themselves more to beginners and timid intermediates, but our two top choice resorts are exceptions – with St Anton’s tough slopes and renowned off-piste and the inimitable Hahnenkamm downhill course in Kitzbuhel.

Lively weekends and family resorts

Austrian hotels are not known for their flexibility for short breaks but we are still able to offer some great options for groups and individuals looking for a ski weekend in some of the liveliest resorts. Austria also has some fantastic, quieter, very family-friendly destinations.
